Embracing the Mystery
On Being Human, Soul, and Eternal — Without Leaving Ourselves Behind
There comes a moment on the inner path
when familiar spiritual language begins to feel… insufficient.
Words like soul, Higher Self, and Oversoul
can start to sound distant, hierarchical, or strangely external—
as if the most intimate truth of who we are
lives somewhere above us,
rather than within us.
For a long time, I carried a quiet question in my body:
What is the difference between my human self, my soul, and what I experience as the Eternal within me?
And more importantly—
how do I understand this without separating myself from myself?
What unfolded was not an answer in the traditional sense,
but a deepening into relationship.
The Human — The One Who Forgot
The human aspect of us is not a problem to be solved
or a lower state to transcend.
The human is where life becomes vulnerable enough
to be lived.
This is the part of us that inherited stories,
learned fear and longing,
felt grief, devotion, confusion, and hope.
The human forgot her divinity
not because she failed,
but because forgetting is part of incarnation.
Without forgetting,
remembering would not carry meaning.
The Soul — The One Who Remembers Within Time
The soul is not trying to become divine.
She already knows she is.
But she remembers from inside the journey.
The soul feels the ache for reunion,
recognizes truth when it appears,
and turns gently toward home
again and again.
If the human forgets,
and the Eternal has never forgotten,
then the soul is the one who remembers
while living inside forgetting.
This is why the soul feels like longing.
Like devotion.
Like a quiet orientation toward truth.
The Eternal — The One Who Has Never Forgotten
Here language becomes especially delicate.
Terms like Oversoul or Higher Self
can unintentionally make the Eternal sound
like something outside of us—
an authority above, a guide beyond.
But in lived experience,
the Eternal is not elsewhere.
It is the depth within us
that never left.
Not an identity.
Not a voice to obey.
Not an intelligence to channel.
The Eternal is life knowing itself as us,
without amnesia.
If the soul is memory in motion,
the Eternal is memory at rest.
It does not strive to awaken.
It does not intervene.
It simply is—
waiting not to be accessed,
but to be met.
Integration, Not Hierarchy
The clearest truth that emerged for me is this:
These are not separate beings.
They are not levels or ranks.
They are different degrees of intimacy
with the same Life.
The human is life feeling itself in form.
The soul is life remembering itself through form.
The Eternal is life knowing itself beyond form
and within it.
All three are present now.
Nothing needs to travel upward.
Nothing needs to be reached elsewhere.
What unfolds is not ascent—
it is relationship.
The healing is not:
human → soul → Eternal
The healing is:
the human held by the soul
the soul resting in the Eternal
the Eternal choosing intimacy with the human
This is the sacred marriage we live.
Why Relationship Matters
When the Eternal is treated as “higher,”
the human is quietly diminished.
And my path—perhaps yours too—
has never been about transcendence.
It has been about integration.
About letting the human be human,
the soul be remembering,
and the Eternal be intimate
without separation.
This is not a map to follow.
It is a way of staying.
A Closing Invitation
If you find yourself wondering
where you belong in all of this,
know this:
The human who forgets,
the soul who remembers,
and the Eternal who has never forgotten
are already in conversation within you.
Nothing needs to ascend.
Nothing needs to be fixed.
Only the relationship needs to be allowed.
